President Jackie Friedman named to executive committee and Nexion Travel Group Awarded Host Agency of the Year
IRVING, TX (August 28, 2019) – Nexion Travel Group, the industry-leading host agency, was given two recognitions at the ASTA Global Convention, held August 25-27 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Jackie Friedman, CTC, CTIE, the President of Nexion Travel Group and a current ASTA board member, was named to the Executive Committee as Treasurer. Additionally, Nexion Travel Group was named a co-winner of ASTA’s Host Agency of the Year award.

Friedman was elected by ASTA membership to the national board of directors in July 2019. She was subsequently named Treasurer at the ASTA Global Convention. As Treasurer, Friedman is responsible for the financial management, oversight and governance of ASTA. She will serve a one-year term in the role.

Nexion Travel Group was named a co-winner of ASTA’s Host Agency of the Year Award. This award is given annually to the host agency that does an exceptional job of promoting ASTA, the travel industry, and the travel advisor profession.

Also, during the ASTA Global convention, Nexion Travel Group member Toni Lanotte-Day was given the Barbara O’Hara Award for Advocacy. The award recognizes a person in the travel industry who has advocated for the industry’s interests with legislative groups.
