Experts from Travel Leaders Group weigh in on the latest trends for travelers leaving out of L.A.
New York, NY (May 1, 2019) — Los Angeles travelers are going farther afield this year, according to a new survey of Los Angeles area travel advisors, conducted by Travel Leaders Group. The company’s travel advisors in the Los Angeles area report that their clients, while still visiting popular-from-the-West-Coast destinations, such as Hawaii, Alaska and Asia, are now increasingly traveling farther to vacation in greater numbers in Europe, the Caribbean and in eastern parts of Mexico. The report also reflected the popularity of trending destinations such as New Zealand, Vietnam, Colombia, Portugal and Malta.
“We are seeing incredible growth across the board in travel with new routes, airline, hotels, cruise and tour offerings hitting the market every day,” said Travel Leaders Group CEO Ninan Chacko, “and what we’re seeing from our Los Angeles clients is an interest to go farther.”
“Some new air routes from LAX and an increased frequency on some routes, to Europe for example, have helped to open up destinations around the world that were previously difficult to get to from Los Angeles,” said Chacko. “Our travel advisors relish the challenge of designing custom experiences for travelers seeking both exotic and closer to home escapes for Angelenos.”
Family travel also ranked high with L.A. area travelers. In particular, those travelers sought amenities geared toward traveling with children and multiple generations of family members, such as larger, or adjoining rooms, breakfast included and children’s programming.
“Families today are traveling more extensively around the world, and frequently with multiple generations on the same trip, so they are often working with a travel advisor to ensure the details are seamless, as well as developing a program of activities to appeal to each of the different travelers,” said Chacko, “That’s where the experience of our travel advisor experts can really make a difference in creating unforgettable memories for travelers.”
