Jackie Friedman Named President of Family Bonds Foundation

Head of Irving, Texas-based Nexion to provide strategic leadership to Travel Leaders Group charitable program

NEW YORK, N.Y. (May 21, 2018) — Jackie Friedman, President of Irving, Texas-based Nexion, one of the country’s largest travel industry host agencies and a unit of Travel Leaders Group, has also been named President of the Family Bonds Foundation, a charitable giving program operated by Travel Leaders Group.

The Family Bonds Foundation was founded in 2015 by John Lovell, President of Travel Leaders Network and Leisure Group, to serve the charitable needs of those who work within travel industry as well as the broader community. Grants are awarded based on a wide variety of charitable needs ranging from natural disasters to illness to other types of financial hardship.

Friedman, who steps into her new role as part of a planned leadership rotation for the foundation, now oversees its board of directors and provides strategic direction. She also serves as President of Nexion, a leading host travel agency that provides best-in-class tools, technology, marketing, education and support to independent travel professionals.

“It is an honor to have been chosen to lead the Family Bonds Foundation,” Friedman commented. “Travel brings people together and the travel industry repeatedly demonstrates its compassion by supporting those in need. I am proud of what Family Bonds has accomplished so far and am looking forward to even greater things to come as we continue to fulfill the organization’s mission of supporting those who need our assistance during difficult times.”

Added John Lovell, “The Family Bonds Foundation was born out of a desire to support both our fellow colleagues and those within local communities in need of a helping hand. I can’t think of someone more compassionate and driven to move the organization forward from here than Jackie and I know she will do a fantastic job.”

Friedman will lead the board of directors for Family Bonds, which includes Bob Brill (Retired General Counsel, Travel Leaders Group), Doug Carpenter (CFO, Wings Travel Group), Mimi Comfort (President and Owner, Cruise Holidays of Kansas City), Nicole Galowin (Senior Director of Executive Offices & Support Services, Travel Leaders Network and Leisure Group), Scott Nisbet (CEO, Globus family of brands) and Dondra Ritzenthaler (Senior Vice President of Sales, Celebrity Cruises).
