Annual Travel Leaders Network Gathering Set to Kick-off June 7
NATIONAL HARBOR, MD. (June 6, 2019) – The largest-ever annual conference hosted by Travel Leaders Network officially kicks off tomorrow, June 7, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor in the greater Washington, DC area. The conference, referred to as EDGE, which stands for Educate, Discover, Gather, Evolve, will host a record-setting 2,100 attendees this year and feature more educational workshops and training sessions, supplier presentations, guest speakers, tradeshow exhibitors and networking opportunities than ever before.

“As Travel Leaders Network has evolved into the largest retail travel agency organization in North America, so, too, has our annual conference,” said John Lovell, President – Leisure Travel, Supplier Relations and Networks, for Travel Leaders Group, the parent organization of Travel Leaders Network. “EDGE is an invaluable opportunity for agency owners, travel advisors, suppliers and team members to come together to learn, share and network. It is the most highly anticipated event of the year among our advisors and partners and we have designed this year’s conference with the aim to truly exceed expectations.”
A combined 210 educational, professional development and supplier workshops will be offered during the sold-out conference and mark the debut of a new customized learning pathways approach to advisor education. Sessions ranging from social media and marketing strategies, closing more sales and making best use of technology tools to how to mitigate legal risks or choose a niche will be offered.
A huge array of supplier presentations and workshops will take place, as well, with a record 500 supplier partners in attendance, representing a wide variety of ocean and river cruise lines, hotels and resorts, airlines, rental car and transportation providers, travel insurance companies, destination marketing organizations and more. Several insightful guest speakers are lined up including nationally-renowned motivational speaker Connie Podesta, who will deliver the conference keynote. The conference will also feature a trade show and hotel marketplace.
In addition to exploring National Harbor, attendees will be hosted at an exclusive event at Washington D.C.’s Newseum, which is dedicated to increasing the public’s understanding of the importance of a free press and the First Amendment.
“Our annual conference is always an exciting, memorable and highly beneficial gathering but we are particularly excited about this year’s EDGE,” said Roger E. Block, CTC, President of Travel Leaders Network. “Attendees get so much value from the conference and every year we fine-tune it to make it even more productive, thought-provoking and fun than the year before. It’s just one of the many one-of-a-kind benefits available by partnering with Travel Leaders Network.”
